Indian Railways rolls out its first "SMART" coach
First smart coach of Indian Railways is ready. This coach has been prepared at the Modern Coach Factory in Rae Bareli at an additional cost of Rs 12 to 14 lakhs. There are plans to build 100 such smart coaches in the coming time.
This coach will not only control temperature, but will also provide information on dust infection level. This coach will also tell the brake wear, position of the wheels, track's health card. Which will be able to detect the defect beforehand. 100 such coaches are being prepared. The first coach will be put in a train of Northern Railway, but it is not yet decided which train will have this coach.
Main facilities
For this, many types of sensors have been installed in the coach. There are different sensors in the coach for veils, bearings, springs, oscillations and tracks. If any part goes wrong, the sensor will immediately enter the control room. Brake jam in coaches, breakdown due to high pressure on spring, track fracture etc. are common.
CCTV live monitoring
CCTVs fitted in smart coaches will be equipped with artificial intelligence capability. This will not only make it easier to keep an eye on housekeeping, TT, trains pantry, suspicious passengers. Also, the record of CCTV will be saved for 30 days, due to which she will help in solving it if there is a crime.
