What is Digital Locker?
Digital Locker or Digi Locker is a kind of virtual locker. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015, although the rules related to it were notified in 2017. The government claims that once they upload their documents in the locker, they do not need to be physically kept. You can run your work by showing it when the concerned officer demands it. The officer has to recognize it.
It is very important to have a Aadhar
If you have an Aadhar Card, then only you will be able to keep your necessary documents in Digital Locker or Digi Locker. The locker opens your account only through the information of your Aadhar Card. You can upload your documents after opening the account in Digi locker.

Keep these e-documents
In DigiLocker you can keep PAN card, educational certificate, caste and birth certificate, ration card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, etc. Under the Information Technology Act-2000, the electronic records available in DigiLocker will be treated the same as the original documents. Data will be completely safe Your documents in a digital locker will be protected just like a bank account or net banking. In this, your user ID is linked to the Aadhar card and mobile number.
